Dime Glory Challenge

 

 

When they initially announced the comeback of the dime challenge, the excitement was palpable as many consider it the ultimate skate competition. It had been absent for 3 years since the last dime event.


The only slight alteration in this year's Dime event was that it required tickets instead of being completely free and open to everyone. The organizing team stated this was a decision made after having to turn away people who traveled from around the globe and couldn't enter due to capacity constraints.


This year featured an intense two days of skating with two distinct events and skaters arriving from all corners of the globe.

 

Tfunk and Tyson

 

 

On 4/20, a new Baker video was released in 2022, making the celebration quite memorable,Tyson Peterson & Tristan Funkhouserand, as you surely recall, the guys absolutely nailed it.


From Tyson's opening downhill sequence to T-Funk's improbable feat at China BanksThrashercover finale. It was no shock to hear Tristan being seriously considered for SOTY as 2022 concluded.

 

Skater of the year (SOTY)

 

 

The SOTY is always an individual who stands out from their peers, whether a seasoned veteran, a rising talent, or a daring newcomer.


The award honors the skater who has shown remarkable skills, dedication, passion, and determination in the sport, either by achieving success in competitions or by advancing the frontiers of skateboarding.


Winning the Skater of the Year award can be a pivotal moment in a skater's career, leading to increased media attention, more sponsorship deals, and ultimately, higher earnings.

Thrasher's first Skater of the Year was, of course, Tony Hawk.


This year, the title is awarded toTyshawn Jones

 

Juzzy Carter

 

 

Juzzy is a Professional ScooterA rider specializing in flatland and street riding from Mount Martha, Australia. He is renowned for executing some of the most insane and inventive tricks you've ever witnessed on a scooter and has a knack for finding the most unusual kinked rails to grind, regardless of the city he's exploring.


Juzzy’s distinctive riding style has earned him multiple sponsorships, including Madd Gear and River Wheel Company.

 

Ohlay Video Of the Year

 

 

This year's Ohlay video of the year is awarded to The Next Generation.

The video features riders such asHunter Frost, Cody Ribley, Nate Pena, Grant Lewis and Colin Mclean


In this video, these riders embark on a two-week road trip aimed at inspiring the younger generation. Ohlay notes, "With so few park-oriented riders currently focusing on video parts, this video is a breath of fresh air. We are absolutely thrilled with their level of commitment and dedication to this project, and we fully believe this is just a glimpse of what's to come."

 

Action Space preparing for worlds

Preparing for Worlds is a groundbreaking training program for the elite in professional scootering. Action Space recruits the top 5 riders worldwide to elevate the level of competitive scooter riding through rigorous and specialized training at the world's premier facilities.


Top Riders Jamie Hull, Jordan Clark, Chris Farris, Roomet Saalik and Jayden Sharmanparticipate in the documentary. Follow their journey and struggles for the World Championship in Argentina.

 

Ryan Williams - front flip nothing front bike flip

 

 

Ryan Williams, also known as “R Willy”, is a three-time X Games gold medalist inBMXbig air; Downs has earned an X Games bronze medal in the same category. Wygle and Meyn travel the world performing with Nitro Circus, and Roberts’ BMX video parts are legendary.


At this year's Nitro World Games, he successfully executed the front flip nothing front bike flip, securing 1st place in the BMX best trick category.

 

Kieran Rilley - First to Achieve a Triple Flair

 

 

Kieran Rilley is currently a rising figure in the BMX scene, widely recognized for his unique combination of flips, whips, and spins. Earlier this year, he elevated his sport by successfully executing the world's first triple flair on aBMX Bike.


Utilizing a specially designed roll-in and ramp at an indoor BMX and skate venue at Asylum Skatepark in Nottinghamshire, England, Reilly completed three full backflips followed by a 180-degree spin.

 

Matthias Dandois

 

 

Matthias Dandoisis among the most stylish performers in Flatland BMX. He began his career in 2002 and was first crowned World Champion in 2008, at the young age of 19.


Matthias channels his creativity and imagination into both action sports and content creation. He is constantly on the lookout for new places to ride and is always pushing the limits of various riding styles.


This year, he reached the final 4 at the RedBull Circle of Balance, just three months after suffering a broken leg.
