We're thrilled to share that this summer we will be participating in something truly exciting! As a part of The Big Sleuth campaign, we will be sponsoring our very own bear (a sleuth is the term for a group of bears). Alongside other sponsored bears, ours will be roaming the streets of Birmingham – or should we say Bear-mingham now? - to support fundraising efforts for Birmingham Children's Hospital.
Our bear, currently being transformed by a local artist, draws inspiration from the strength and empowerment found within the roller derby community. Therefore, it is only fitting that our bear is adorned from head to toe in vibrant roller derby attire, complete with skates, knee pads, and most importantly, a helmet – be sure to look out for it if you plan on visiting the city this summer!

Given that roller derby is predominantly a female sport, our bear requires a spirited female roller derby name to match her bold personality. This is where you come in – we invite you to propose a name for our magnificent bear (think bear puns and clever adjectives).
You have until midday on Monday, 15th May to participate in our naming contest, and after that, we will select our favorite name from all the entries, along with 5 runners-up.
