SkateHut Hero - Andy Schrock

SkateHut Hero - Andy Schrock

Possibly one of the busiest individuals around, Andy Schrock owns and operates Revive Skateboards and Force wheels. Oh, and have we mentioned he also uploads videos daily for his 875,000 YouTube followers? This guy has had over 2 million views on his channel and certainly qualifies as one of the busiest people in the world right now.

We stock Revive clothing and boards as well as Force wheels, but today we're focusing on Andy's transition to YouTube. Like many skaters, Andy began by compiling parts and edits to demonstrate his style, all with the aim of securing a sponsorship. Andy also threw in some entertaining Jackass-inspired skits for good measure, but we don't recommend trying that at home (unless it's really awesome). He’s living proof that social media can indeed be used positively and that through YouTube, you can elevate your profile to discover opportunities you never knew were possible.

Andy launched the cleverly named 'Shred Quarters' store, which not only has a fantastic name but also serves as the warehouse from which his business operates. He chose to merge work and pleasure, with the pleasure being an indoor skatepark located within Shred Quarters. This venue has been the setting for hundreds, if not thousands, of Andy’s videos, tricks, lines, and countless games of S.K.A.T.E, while also welcoming some impressive pro skaters through its doors.

Some employees at Shred Quarters observed the direction and boost that YouTube provided Andy and decided to put their own twist on what was proving to be a successful formula. Comedy + Skateboarding = Followers. With Sam Tabor and Casey Bechler together amassing over 380,000 followers as well, the Shred Quarters hosts some very prominent names on YouTube, while being home to its very own Skateboarding and Wheel Brand.

This might seem like a somewhat unusual topic to blog about, given that we're an online company that sells products, so what does YouTube have to do with anything? Well, YouTube was how we first discovered Andy Schrock, and now we stock his products in our store. The internet plays such a significant role in our lives that it would be a missed opportunity not to make the most of it! Perhaps you found our website through one of our tweets? Maybe one of our YouTube videos caught your attention, or even a friend sharing our Facebook posts. The key is, all these tools are free to use. If you can ignite that creative spark, there is a world full of people eager to see and hear your ideas.

Who knows what the future holds when you get involved? Just ask Andy...
