The 900 gave their inaugural performance at SkateHut HQ on February 3rd, 2024. This event not only showcased their live act,The 900but also featured a supporting band from Halesowen College, namedShutUsUp!¡.
Sponsors were instrumental in ensuring the event's success.Shiner, a significant supporter, provided Tony Hawk skateboards, helmets, and pads to be won in a raffle. In addition,Red Bull, another appreciated sponsor, kept us energized throughout the show by generously supplying refreshing energy drinks.
The event was held atSkateHut HQin Halesowen, marking the first time SkateHut organized an event at the new store, and it was a tremendous success. Despite the store remaining open for usual business during the day, customers could shop and enjoy the live music experience. SkateHut thoughtfully designated half of the store's space to create an area for dancing and enjoying the captivating live performances.
The gig was held on February 3rd, starting at 12 noon and finishing at 2 pm. The first band, ShutUsUp!¡, performed from 12:15 to 12:45, with a break for the raffle between sets. The headline act, The 900, took the stage from 1 pm to 2 pm. Besides the raffle, attendees could also take part in the 'Spin 2 Win' game, guaranteeing a prize with every spin. The game provided excitement for just £1 per spin, with all proceeds going to supportBirmingham Children's Hospital..
The collaboration with Halesowen College and the performance by ShutUsUp!¡ added a wonderful element to the event, fostering a sense of community among locals. The lead singer, Jón Ásbjörnsson, showed exceptional skill in energizing the audience and actively engaging them in the performance.
