So, you've just got a new stunt scooter and you're eager to start learning some tricks. Here are 5 tricks perfect for complete beginners. These tricks are simple to pick up and serve as the foundation for many advanced tricks!

Bunny Hop
Bunny Hop is simply jumping with your scooter.
- While stationary on your scooter, grip the handlebars, bend both your knees, and leap into the air, pulling the scooter up as you jump.
- Bend your knees again upon landing to maintain control of your scooter.
Once you're feeling confident, try the Bunny Hop while moving.
Tail Whip
A Tail Whip involves a 360° rotation of the deck around the handlebar column.
- Jump as high as you are able.
- Use the toe of your back foot to kick the deck.
- Engage your arms for the remainder of the motion, guiding the handlebars in a circular movement.
- Observe the deck as it rotates and extend your back foot to catch it, bringing the deck back under you.
- Maintain your balance to land smoothly.
Once you've mastered it, you can attempt Double Tailwhip, Triple Whip, Quad Whip, and Quint Whip. As you learn to perform more whips, ensure you achieve greater height and faster deck rotations.

Bar spin
A 360° rotation of the handlebars.
- Do not completely release the bars; you should just pass the bars around.
- Leap as high as you can, keeping your balance.
- Once you reach a comfortable height in the air, start to pass your handlebars around using your throwing hand.
- With your handlebars beneath you, release the bars.
- Allow the bars to spin freely, keeping your catching hand ready.
- Grab the grip with your catching hand.
- Return both hands to the grips and stabilize yourself for a smooth landing.
Once you've mastered this, you can learn Double Barspin, Triple Barspin, and Quad Barspin.
It requires practice to perfect the timing of throwing and catching, so take your time.
180s
A 180° spin in the air followed by landing.
- You'll need to jump higher for these.
- As you jump, use your shoulders and head to rotate yourself 180 degrees.
- Aim to jump high enough so you can regain balance before landing in fakie.
- Be sure to keep your back wheel elevated at all times, or it may catch the floor and halt your rotation.
- Land in fakie.
Once mastered, you can work on 180, 360, 540, 720, 900, and 1080. Many of these should be practiced in a foam pit or on a resi ramp first.
One handers
Remove one hand from the scooter, extending it out while airborne.
- Leap to a height where you feel stable, maintaining your balance over the scooter.
- Remove one hand from the grip and extend that arm away from the scooter.
- Ensure your other hand maintains a firm grasp on the grip at all times.
- Align yourself in mid-air and make sure both hands are securely back on the grips.
- Land and roll away.
After mastering this, you can progress to No Handers.
