Team Shove It is a skateboarding group originating from the Midlands, with members hailing from various parts of the UK. In our exclusive interview with Adam and Neil, two central figures in the group, we gained insights into how Team Shove It began and evolved over time.
The beginnings of this group can be traced to when Adam and Neil first crossed paths in Droitwich. Bonded by their passion for skateboarding, they regularly visited the Droitwich banks, which unfortunately no longer exist.
Nonetheless, as one chapter ended, another began with the emergence of Unit 360 in Stourbridge. This skate park became a crucial gathering place for Team Shove It. Adam and Neil were particularly drawn to the over-30s night at Unit 360, where they met many fellow members of the group. Looking back, Unit 360 is seen as the birthplace of Team Shove It.
Worcester serves as their primary skating location, with Blockside becoming a well-known spot famed for its curbs and unique marble blocks. Blockside offered the perfect setting for the team to display their skills and creativity. Besides Worcester's Blockside, Team Shove It explored numerous other street spots, such as Bournebrook and Fastlands.
Team Shove It has chronicled their skateboarding adventures through videos, each highlighting their distinctive style and the diverse terrains they conquered. In 2018, they released a video called "Old Enough to Know Better," which features street skating and captures the spirit of being "just out on the streets." Neil, a key member of Team Shove It, also contributed to YouTube with his video titled "Quadragenarian." This video includes appearances from a significant portion of the team, including a large contribution from members in Glasgow.

The team not only produces videos but also creates zines. An outstanding zine, "Slow and Low," is the creation of team member Roy. This zine is notable for its striking photography and engaging graphics. Additionally, Adam has produced a zine that not only celebrates the skateboarding community but also emphasizes interviewing and highlighting the stories of riders with roots in Birmingham, showcasing their experiences and viewpoints.
