The new extrusion has increased the overall strength and kept the weight to a minimum. Apex have increased the grinding area and concave, and adjusted the dropouts and front cap.

The front cap has not been made completely square as the design requires internal welding to increase the overall strength of the deck. They have also found through designing and testing, that the small angles at the front of the deck are beneficial for riders. It reduces the flexibility of the material, which makes it feel strong, and also gives riders the perfect pivoting point when jumping into blunt slides and crook grinds.

Apex has adjusted the dropout design to suit street riding and functionality. The new peg design includes a hex slot so you only need an Allen key to tighten your wheel. The peg also features one hole that can be used for leverage when tightening. This design increases the lifespan of the product, as the peg can be rotated when it has been completely used.
