Right of Withdrawal

According to European consumer protection legislation, customers have the right to cancel a purchase agreement for any given reason within 14 days upon receiving the goods. You then have an additional 14 days to return the goods.

If you comply with this, you are entitled to a full refund, including the freight you paid to have the item delivered. Please note that

  • We will only refund delivery costs corresponding to the cheapest delivery method. Any additional delivery costs for choosing a different delivery method will not be refunded.
  • We do not refund shipping in cases where you have ordered multiple products and only regret parts of your purchase.
  • You must pay the shipping costs of returning the item to us yourself. You are liable if any damage occurs during transportation.
  • You cannot cancel the purchase by refusing to receive the item without notifying us.

30-day return policy

SkateHut.com offers you the opportunity to return goods for up to 30 days after receipt. Here, the same rules apply as for the 14-day right of withdrawal. However, we do not refund delivery costs after the 14 days, i.e. when you cancel on day 15 to day 30.

The deadline means that you have 30 days from receipt to notify us that you want to cancel your purchase.

Condition of Returned Goods

As a customer, you have the right to examine the product as you would in a physical store without affecting your right to cancel the purchase. You will be responsible for any decrease in the product’s value due to your inspection, and you are not allowed to use the product outdoors.

You must return the item in its original packaging. The packaging may be opened, but not destroyed. If the packaging is missing or damaged, this may constitute a deterioration of value for which you will be held responsible.

The item must be securely wrapped when you return it. You are responsible for the condition of the package/goods until we receive them. We advise you to save the postal receipt and track and trace number.

Exceptions to the right of withdrawal

There is no right of withdrawal when purchasing:

  • Products that are manufactured or customized according to your specific wishes or have been given a clear personal touch.
  • Product services such as the assembly of scooters or sharpening of skates that have been delivered ready for use, if you have agreed to the service being started at the time of purchase, and that your right of withdrawal is thus lost.

How to Invoke Your Right of Withdrawal

Items can be returned in the following ways:

  • Use our online return system (recommended)
  • Use the standard return form at the bottom of this page

We recommend using our online return system as this is the easiest method.

Regardless of the return shipping method, it is your responsibility to ensure that the item is returned to us in the same condition as you received it.

The package must be sent directly to this address. Packages delivered to parcel shops will not be picked up.

Return costs

If you withdraw from a purchase, you are responsible for the return shipping costs.
We recommend using the Return Shipment Service provided by SkateHut.com.
Find your order and click the Request return option for the order.
The cost of the SkateHut return shipment is: €5.99 and will be deducted from the refund.

Refunds

We will refund your purchase through the same payment method you used when placing your order, unless we have made a specific agreement to do anything else.

If you paid with gift cards, the amount will be refunded to a new gift card. If you have partially paid with gift cards, the part paid with the gift card will be refunded to a new gift card, while the remaining amount will be returned to the payment method you used.

We will issue the refund within 14 days of receiving either the returned goods or proof that the goods have been sent. We may withhold the payment until we have received the returned goods or until you have provided proof that the goods have been returned. This depends on whichever happens first.

If you regret your purchase, you must notify us within 14 days and return the goods within a further 14 days for a full refund, including shipping. However, the following exceptions apply:

  • We will only return delivery cost equal to the cheapest delivery method. Any additional delivery cost from selecting another delivery method will not be refunded.
  • We will not refund delivery in cases where you have ordered multiple products and only regret part of your purchase

Claims

If you wish to claim a product, we recommend contacting SkateHut.com before returning the product - in many cases we will be able to find a solution where you do not have to send the product back to us.

If you discover damages to the product that appear to have happened during shipment, please contact us as soon as possible, as freight companies usually only offer a 5-day warranty. Remember to enclose photos that clearly show the damage to both the package and the goods.

What is a valid claim?

You have the right to claim reimbursement in cases where you have received a product that was broken or defective. You can claim a refund if the product has a material or manufacturing defect or if you have been misinformed about the product.

Examples of claims that will be rejected include, but are not limited to:

  • Damage due to normal wear and tear
  • Damage resulting from improper or inappropriate use of the product
  • Damage due to your modifications not intended by the manufacturer
  • Damage resulting from the product not being maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's user manual

SkateHut.com does not offer any independent warranty. Complaints that fall within the scope of a warranty provided by the manufacturer can only be made to the manufacturer that has provided the warranty.

Deadlines

You have the right to complain about defects in a product up to 24 months after receiving it. If you discover a defect, you must contact us within a reasonable time. If you contact us within 2 months of discovering the defect, your complaint is timely as long as it is within the 24 months period.

How to make a claim

We must examine the product in order to assess whether the claim is justified.

We recommend that you start by contacting us at email@skatehut.com. Please include pictures and a detailed description of the problem, where you also explain how the problem occurred.

If your complaint is justified, this means that you can either get the product repaired, exchanged, a refund or a price reduction, depending on the specific situation.

Please note that

  • We only cover shipping costs if the claim is approved.
  • If you arrange the return yourself, we ask you to save the tracking number and receipt. We cover an amount corresponding to reasonable shipping costs.
